Find the answers to your questions about our international schools in our FAQ section.

Are your schools Montessori or bilingual?

Our schools are international, with nursery schools and kindergartens based on Montessori pedagogy, and primary schools that use many Montessori tools and whose teachers are all trained in the Montessori 6-12 pedagogy. Bilingualism is therefore an integral part of our students' daily lives, right from the nursery with Baby English workshops. In kindergarten and primary school, teaching is completely bilingual, enabling our students to interact fully in English and French.

How can I join Esclaibes International Schools?

The admission process begins with an initial contact via our contact form. Depending on your needs, we can arrange a meeting to familiarize you with our schools and our premises. If you are currently living abroad, we can arrange this meeting by videoconference. Following this interview, and depending on your child's academic record if he/she has already attended another school, you can proceed with enrolment. For primary school children, a trial period will always be offered. We look forward to welcoming your children!

Is it possible to register during the year?

Yes, we can accommodate your children during the school year, subject to availability. To find out more, please consult the enrolment procedure for staggered start dates.

Are your international schools non-contractual?

Although our schools do not have a contract of association with the French state, we strictly adhere to the official programs of the French Ministry of Education. They remain under state supervision, with regular inspections and controls.

Is it possible to join the French or international public education system after attending your schools?

We have put in place precise tools to ensure the link with official programs. Each child has a logbook, a school file and an INE number, which he or she keeps if he or she moves to another school in the public system or abroad.

What is the school vacation schedule for your schools?
  • Our Montessori kindergarten in Paris 16 is in Zone C.
  • Our bilingual school in Paris 15 is part of Zone C.
  • Our Clichy international school group is located in Zone C.
  • Our international school in Marseille is based in Zone B.
How is the Esclaibes International Schools teaching team recruited?

Our teaching team is recruited according to three specific criteria:

  • Academic training: our teachers have all the tools they need to support your children's progress. In the French-speaking world, almost 100% of our new recruits are teachers from the French national education system who decide to take Montessori training in order to join us.
  • Experience: we recruit people with solid field experience, in public or private school systems in France or abroad. Our aim is to prepare our students as effectively as possible for the world in which they live.
  • Humanity: well-being is at the heart of our pedagogical vision, and starts with our teachers, all of whom are driven by a passion for education and children.
Do students have homework to do?

From primary school onwards, homework is given, according to the level of each pupil. The idea is not only to prepare them for another system, but also to enable them to excel at school. Homework should not become a source of anguish and war with parents, and should not be used to make up for what has not been learned in class. Exercises are always given at least a week in advance, don't take hours, and are designed to arouse curiosity, such as presentations or book reports. Or to enable them to carry out certain learning activities that we think would be appropriate at home: memorizing tables, dictating words, conjugating words, learning a poem...

What is the examination program?

Our schools do not conduct exams. However, we do monitor each student's individual progress through continuous assessment and work plans. On the other hand, our students are prepared for the Cambridge Certificate. A session is organized during the year. Our schools do not have grades, only assessments.

Where do children go when they start secondary school?

Already, our first middle school class will open next September in Marseille, and we're working on opening a middle school in Paris in September 25. Otherwise, parents generally prefer international schools, but all doors are open to them. Whether in reputed or state-run colleges, our students are bilingual and have an excellent academic record.
