Find the answers to your questions about our international bilingual schools in our FAQ section.

Are your schools Montessori or bilingual?

Our schools are international, with bilingual kindergartens and nursery schools based on the Montessori pedagogy, as well as bilingual elementary classes that use many Montessori tools and whose teachers are all trained in the Montessori 6-12 pedagogy. Bilingualism is an integral part of our students' daily lives, right from the nursery with Baby English workshops. In kindergarten and elementary school, teaching is fully bilingual, enabling our students to interact fully in English and French.

How can I join Esclaibes International Schools?

For each EIS international bilingual school, the admission process starts with an initial contact via our contact form. Depending on your needs, we can arrange a meeting with you to familiarize yourself with our schools and discover our premises in Paris in the 15ᵉ or 16ᵉ arrondissement, in Clichy, in Marseille. If you currently live abroad, we can make this appointment by videoconference. Following this interview and depending on your child's school record, if he or she has already attended another school, you can proceed with enrolment. Primary school children will always be offered a trial period. We look forward to welcoming your children!

Is it possible to enroll in your bilingual international schools during the year?

Yes, we can accommodate your children during the school year, subject to availability. To find out more, please consult the enrolment procedure for staggered start dates.

Are your bilingual international schools non-contractual?

Although our schools are private and do not have a contract of association with the French state, we carefully follow the official French curriculum. Our international schools remain under state supervision, with regular inspections and controls.

Is it possible to join the French or international public education system after attending your schools?

We have put in place precise tools to ensure the link with official programs. Each child has a logbook, a school file and an INE number, which he or she keeps if he or she moves to another school in the public system or abroad.

What is the school vacation schedule for your schools?

How are the teaching staff recruited for the schools in the Esclaibes International Schools network?

Our teaching team is recruited according to three specific criteria:

  • Academic training: our teachers have all the tools they need to support your children's progress. In a French-speaking environment, almost 100% of our new recruits are teachers from the French national education system who decide to train in Montessori pedagogy in order to join us.
  • Experience: we recruit people with solid field experience, in public or private school systems in France or abroad. Our aim is to prepare our students as effectively as possible for the world in which they live.
  • Humanity: active pedagogy and well-being are at the heart of our pedagogical vision and begin with our teachers, all of whom are driven by a passion for education and children.

Do students have homework to do?

From primary school onwards, homework is given, according to the level of each pupil. The idea, beyond preparing them for another system, is to enable them to have an excellent academic level. Homework should not become a source of anguish and war with parents, and should not compensate for what has not been seen in class. Exercises are always given at least a week in advance, don't take hours and are designed to :

  • arouse their curiosity: presentations, reading cards ;
  • or enable them to learn certain things that we think are best done at home: memorizing tables, dictating words, conjugating words, learning a poem...

What is the examination program at our bilingual international schools?

Our schools do not conduct exams. However, we do monitor each student's individual progress through continuous assessment, work plans and personalized follow-up. On the other hand, our students are prepared for the Cambridge Certificate. A session is organized during the year. Our schools do not have grades, but only assessments.

Where do children go when they start secondary school?

Our first middle school class will open next September in Marseille, and we're working on opening a middle school in September 2025 in Paris. Otherwise, parents tend to opt for international schools, but all doors are open to them, whether in reputable private or public colleges. Our students are bilingual and have an excellent academic record.
