Paris 8 and Marseille 12, applicants for the IB Primary Years Program
A new chapter is beginning for Esclaibes International Schools: our schools in Paris 8 and Marseille 12 have been granted candidate status for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP).
This candidacy now commits both schools to a process of preparation and support with the goal of becoming IB World Schools.
As part of this process, Amanda Ceselia, Academic Director, and Alexandre d’Esclaibes, Director and Co-founder, attended two IB professional development workshops this summer focused on the Primary Years Program: “Leading Learning—PYP (Cat. 1)” for Amanda Ceselia and “School Leader—PYP (Cat. 1)” for Alexandre d’Esclaibes.
This initiative is a natural extension of our educational mission: to empower children to take ownership of their learning, encourage inquiry and questioning, and foster critical thinking, cooperation, and an open-minded approach to the world.
Esclaibes International School of Paris 8 and Esclaibes International School of Marseille (12) are schools applying to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP). These schools wish to become IB World Schools. IB World Schools share a common philosophy: a commitment to a stimulating, high-quality international education, which Esclaibes International School of Paris 8 and Esclaibes International School of Marseille (12) consider important for their students.
Esclaibes International Schools is opening a campus in Lyon
Esclaibes International Schools is proud to welcome Lyon’s historic Montessori school into its network starting in September 2026. This wonderful school has been supporting children in their development for over 40 years. By joining Esclaibes International Schools, it will continue its educational journey and gradually offer students a truly bilingual environment.

Launch of the podcast Philosophy is sexy for kids
Esclaibes International Schools supports the launch of the Philosophy is Sexy for Kids podcast.
Because there is no age limit on thinking, our co-founder, Marie Robert, has created a children's version of her Philosophy is Sexy podcast: a podcast for ages 5 and up, designed to cultivate wonder, critical thinking, and philosophical curiosity.
Opening of Paris 8
The network continues to expand with the opening of a new school in Paris since the start of the 2025 school year. This new location strengthens our bilingual offering in the heart of the capital, with, for the moment, two toddler classes, two preschool classes for 3-6 year olds, and one elementary school class for 6-9 year olds.
